Menu

The Motion Studio menu bar has three menus, Actions, Options, and Help.

Hide All Skeletons makes all bone and joint objects invisible. Show All Skeletons makes all bone and joint objects visible.

Extract All Sds extracts the control cage for every SDS object beloning to a skeleton in the current scene. Note: extracting the control cage is not the same as displaying the control cage. Extracting complete turns off SDS for the objects.

Restore All Sds converts back to SDS all objects that were extracted by the Extract All command. Note: restore will only work if the objects were extracted in the same session of trueSpace. The SDS tracking information is not saved with scenes.

Show Attached Bones instructs Motion Studio to display bones that have attachments. If unchecked, these bones are hidden.

Show Unattached Bones instructs Motion Studio to display bones that do not have attachments. If unchecked, these bones are hidden.

If Show Selected Skeleton Only is enabled, the only the current skeleton is displayed. All other skeletons are hidden.

Motion Studio has a feature that automatically selects the first joint inside the skeleton (instead of the skeleton itself) when a skeleton is selected. This feature is called Auto Drill-Down Select.

Auto Transform Joints. Normally, when a skeleton is moved or rotated, Motion Studio automatically transfers that motion to the joints. This feature helps prevent 'sliding' or 'skidding' in animations, and also allows you to move a complete skeleton while still using the Motion Studio record functions (which record only joints). If you really want to keyframe motion of the actual skeleton object, you may disable this option.

When Auto Edit Skin is enabled and the Vertex Painter is open, the Vertex Painter will automatically open bones for editing as they are selected. If this option is disabled, you must explicitly select a bone for editing by clicking the Edit button in the Skinning panel, or by selecting Edit Skin from the Skeleton Items context menu.

The Help menu contains items to display this help file, get links to the web, find version information, and open the licensing tool for updates and software activation.
